Art Having always retained an interest in the graphic arts there have been many additional projects alongside the animation such as web design, posters, logos, leaflets, brochures, stationery, some model creation, etc. I am happy to discuss any graphic work that may be required. It can often be the case that art materials which are used in the animation industry can be readily used in graphic applications, perhaps even reducing the cost and provide an unusual and more effective result. I am always happy to work to a fixed price quotation which can be extremely important if there is a particularly tight budget! |

| Synopsis
History After studying in England and then America, I commenced a three year graphic design course at an English college. After my first year I chose to specialise in the techniques and skills of animated filming, gathering education and experience with cel, paper, cut-out, collage, silhouette, sand and model animation. I also covered skills in animation rostrum camera work. Working in animation since 1983 has taught me further skills and helped refine those taught to me at college. I have particularly enjoyed working with traditional models and computers, as well as combining mediums. Having achieved notable success, I started to produce our own animation films, opportunities were few and far between. Having moved out of London hadn't helped and with some financial pressure in the late '80's I decided to obtain additional work. I obtained a freelance sales position with British Airways. After a short while (Feb 1990) a job was created for me at Thompson International Business Publishing (TV World Special Features), in Central London, with my vast animation experience I could bring them a unique angle to their publications. It also helped me appreciate the World-wide financial side to the film industry. Three months later I was achieving excellent results with Thompson but sadly some personal reasons saw myself and my partner leaving the South. We visited Scotland and decided to stay as it was so beautiful. Shortly after settling I obtained a display sales position working for the Highland News Group with their weekly newspaper the 'Ross-shire Journal'. Although it was enjoyable I missed the creative work, so realising the need for graphic design and animation in this area, I left the sales position to re-commence my freelance business. With the graphic side of the business established, I concentrated on the animation. In '93 I purchased computer equipment which I regularly upgrade, ensuring that I can offer top quality work and almost all the lastest animation, graphic effects and creations which are proving to be very popular. I can still offer all the traditional animation mediums such as drawn, model, cut-out, clay, collage, ink and paint. With added technical abilities such as transfer direct to video in real time and some computer editing of sound and images, I no longer need to always rely on production house facilities. Work can be completed here and sent anywhere around the Globe. |
